iQOO has become a quite familiar name in India's flagship smartphone market. Over the last few years, the company has launched flagship models at an affordable price. However, the strategy slightly changed with the launch of iQOO 15 as the starting price was kept at Rs. 72,999. Now, if the latest reports are to be believed, then the company is planning the same for its upcoming iQOO 16.
A new leak from tipster Yogesh Brar has revealed that the much-awaited model may not launch in India. As for the reason, he has mentioned that rising memory prices may push the iQOO 16 to around Rs. 85,000.
For now, the iQOO 16 is rumored to come with bigger upgrades than its predecessor. Reports suggest a new flagship processor, larger battery, better cameras, and brighter display. These upgrades are expected to improve the experience but could also increase the price considerably over the iQOO 13, which launched at Rs 54,999.
Here is where the problem begins. iQOO has built its name for offering flagship features at a lower price point than many premium brands. If the iQOO 16 is priced similarly to other top phones, it could lose the value advantage that helped it grow in India. The leak has not been confirmed by the company, so its launch plans are unknown.
If iQOO 16 doesn't land in India, rivals will have an added advantage. Samsung's Galaxy S series may become the most accessible option for those looking for premium devices. Similarly, OnePlus is likely to appeal to those who want fast performance at a slightly lower price. Xiaomi's flagship lineup and Vivo's X series will also get attention for their stronger camera performance.

Nothing is official yet, and iQOO could still change its plans. Even so, the report shows a bigger trend. Building flagship phones is becoming more expensive. Brands now have to decide whether to raise prices or rethink where they launch their best devices.
