Apple is set to hold its next major iPhone event on September 9, with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max expected to take center stage. The company is also widely expected to unveil its first foldable iPhone, referred to as the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra in reports. Apple confirmed the September 9 event but did not officially announce the names, specifications, or prices of the new iPhone models.
Apple’s ‘Surprise and shine’ event is scheduled for September 9 at 10:30 PM IST. The event will mark the first major iPhone launch under new Apple CEO John Ternus.
Reports suggest Apple could change its usual iPhone launch plan this year. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to arrive in September, while the standard iPhone 18 is reportedly being pushed to 2027.
Apple did not announce the prices in India. Reports suggest the iPhone 18 Pro series could cost more than its predecessor given higher component costs and increased memory requirements.
Some estimates put the iPhone 18 Pro starting price at around Rs. 1.34 lakh in India, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max could start at around Rs. 1.55 lakh to Rs. 1.70 lakh, depending on the final configuration. These figures remain reported estimates rather than Apple’s confirmed prices.
The foldable iPhone is expected to cost significantly more. Current reports put its possible price in the USD 2,000-USD 2,500 range, which could translate to well above Rs. 1.5 lakh in India.
The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to retain a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max could keep a 6.9-inch display. Both are expected to use OLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate.

A reported design change points to a smaller Dynamic Island. Some reports also claim Apple could move towards under-display Face ID, although this remains unconfirmed. Another leak suggests sky blue, pure black, and burgundy color options for the iPhone 18 Pro.
The Pro models are expected to retain a triple-camera setup, with reports pointing to three 48MP rear cameras and a possible 24MP front camera. The biggest change could be a variable-aperture main camera, which may give users greater control over photography in different lighting conditions. Some reports suggest the feature could remain limited to the Pro Max.
The iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to use Apple’s A20 Pro chip, reportedly based on a 2nm manufacturing process. Leaks also point to up to 12GB of RAM and Apple’s C2 modem.
The chip is expected to improve performance and power efficiency. A recent report claims an 18% increase in graphics performance, although this figure remains unconfirmed.
Apple’s first foldable iPhone could feature a book-style design, with a screen of around 7.8 inches when opened and a smaller 5.5-inch cover display. It could be around 4.5mm thick when unfolded.
The device is expected to use two 48MP rear cameras and could feature two front-facing cameras. Reports also suggest Apple may use Touch ID instead of Face ID.
Apple is also expected to announce new Apple Watch and AirPods models at the September 9 event. For now, the event remains the only confirmed part of the story, with specifications, prices, and foldable iPhone details still based on leaks and reports until Apple officially announces the products.
