Apple could open pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on September 12, according to a new report. The reported date falls on a Saturday, unlike Apple’s usual Friday pre-order schedule.
Reports also suggest that pre-orders could open at 12 AM Pacific Time, which would translate to around 12:30 PM IST in India. Apple, however, has yet to confirm the pre-order date or timing.
Apple confirmed its September event for Wednesday, September 9, 2026. The event will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park and begin at 10 AM Pacific Time, or 10:30 PM IST in India.
The event announcement does not specifically name the iPhone 18 Pro. The new Pro models are widely expected to be among the main products unveiled at the event.
The September launch will also mark the first major Apple product launch under John Ternus as CEO, following Tim Cook’s transition to executive chairman.
iPhone launches typically follow a Tuesday or Wednesday announcement, followed by Friday pre-orders. This year, reports point to a Saturday, September 12, pre-order date for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
September 11 falls on a Friday this year and marks the anniversary of the September 11 attacks in the US. Reports suggest Apple could be avoiding a major product-sales event on that date.
A Saturday pre-order would not be unprecedented for Apple. The company previously used a Saturday pre-order date for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus in 2015.
Reports suggest Apple could open pre-orders at 12 AM Pacific Time on September 12, rather than the more typical 5 AM PT.
For Indian buyers, that timing would translate to approximately 12:30 PM IST. If the reported schedule proves accurate, customers in India could place their pre-orders around lunchtime on September 12.

Apple has yet to announce the iPhone 18 Pro price, India pricing, storage options, color variants, or exact retail availability. Reports also suggest the standard iPhone 18 and a potential next-generation iPhone Air could arrive in early 2027.
