Apple is preparing to launch its next affordable smartphone. New leaks suggest the iPhone 17e may enter mass production soon after the CES 2026 event ends. This phone will replace the iPhone 16e and is expected to remain the cheapest iPhone available.

Reports say production could begin just after January 9, when CES finishes in Las Vegas. Apple used the same plan last year. The iPhone 16e started production early and launched a few months later. The iPhone 17e may follow the same timeline and launch in early 2026.

Expected Launch Timeline

The iPhone 17e will focus on good features at a lower price. Leaks say the phone will have a 6.1-inch display with Dynamic Island at the top. This design is already seen on higher-priced iPhones. However, the screen may not support a high refresh rate. This helps Apple keep the cost low.

The phone is expected to run on the new A19 chip. Reports suggest this chip may be slightly slower than the one used in the regular iPhone 17. Still, it should handle daily tasks easily. The chip will also support Apple Intelligence features, which deliver smarter tools and improved performance.

Camera, Design and Other Details

Camera upgrades are also expected. The iPhone 17e may come with an 18MP front camera. This is a clear improvement over older budget iPhones. A better selfie camera will improve video calls and photos. The rear camera setup may stay simple, likely using a single main camera like the previous model.

The design may see small changes too. Slimmer screen borders could give the phone a cleaner look. The phone is expected to run iOS 26 when it launches. Support for MagSafe charging is also likely, making wireless charging and accessories easier to use.

Apple may continue using its own modem in the iPhone 17e. The iPhone 16e was the first model to use Apple’s in-house modem. The new phone could use a newer version to improve battery life and network performance.

There is no clear information about color options yet. The phone may launch in basic colors like black and white. Pricing is expected to stay close to the iPhone 16e, which launched in India at Rs. 59,900. However, higher part costs and supply issues may lead to a slight price increase.

In short, the iPhone 17e is trying to give the latest Apple technology for a lower price. The mass production is expected to start soon, so more details should appear in the coming weeks.
