iPhone 17 series is set to launch in the first two weeks of September 2025. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the official launch might happen between September 8 and September 10, with delivery and international sales beginning a week later.
The new iPhone series will feature four different models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone 17 Air. This article will briefly cover the major differences in two of the flagship models: iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, for users to understand which model suits them best.
iPhones have already made their mark when it comes to premium camera quality and advanced features. Here’s how the new variants stand out:
iPhone 17 Pro Max might receive a decent upgrade in the telephoto lens, providing up to 8x optical zoom
iPhone 17 Pro, on the other hand, will retain the 5x optical zoom just like the iPhone 16 Pro models.
Apart from this, Apple is also rumored to be developing a professional camera app to provide users with more control and flexibility in photography and editing.
Both iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max have significant changes in their design. Based on some reports, the back panel will be made from aluminum and glass - a major shift from the previous all-titanium casing. This new combination is introduced to enhance durability and allow for renewed camera modules, offering a more rectangular look with rounded edges.
Speculations about the new chipset in the iPhone 17 series have already flooded online platforms. According to several reports, both iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will run on Apple’s A19 Pro chip, having a highly capable 6-core GPU. This graphic processor offers fluid visuals and a hassle-free user experience.
The major differences between iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max lie in their display size, camera, and battery size. The Pro Max model will have a larger 6.9-inch display, whereas the Pro model will have a 6.3-inch display. Additionally, Pro Max’s camera upgrades include a telephoto lens with 8x zoom, with the Pro variant retaining 5x digital zoom.
