Apple fans, brace yourselves! The iPhone 17 series is apparently set to be unveiled in 2025 and will debut some revolutionary design tweaks. According to a Forbes report that cited The Information, Apple is very busy with preparations for massive changes which include a new design and a new model Apple iPhone 17 Air.

iPhone 17: Redefining Design Standards

The standardized, Pro, and Pro max iPhone 17 designs are expected to move from the titanium frame that contemplates most iPhones at present in favour of aluminium frames. One of the distinct identifications for the Pro models is to come with a dual material back, anodized aluminium on the top half part and glass on the bottom half. This decision, according to insiders, is not only fashionable and practical but also allows the device to be charged wirelessly.

Furthermore, the traditional approach may call for a redesign of the camera module system. A camera bump in an aluminium rectangle shape might replace the squarish 3D glass module seen on the latest iPhones and potentially set the iPhone 17 even further from the previous models.

These updates could indicate Apple’s desire to rethink its benchmark look without compromising the premium experience customers are used to.

The New iPhone 17 Air: Sleek and Minimalistic

The iPhone 17 Air could be a new, thinner version of the iPhone to replace the Plus model, according to Apple. Being 5mm to 6mm thin, the Air model can intensify portability appeals and fashionable conspicuousness. However, this compact design may come with some trade-offs:

  • Camera: Single camera at the rear without any telephoto lens.

  • Connectivity: Apple, is developing its own 5G modem for internal usage, but that may not match the quality of Qualcomm’s modem or support mmWave tech.

  • SIM Slot: Complete removal of physical SIM slots that will align with Apple’s push towards eSIM technology.

Despite the negative aspects of having fewer hardware features, the slim design of the iPhone 17 Air is most probably intended for those who like stylish devices.

If these rumors turn out to be true, then the iPhone 17 series will mark a new daring chapter in Apple’s smartphone designs, aesthetics and promise of options for consumers.
