Google started rolling out Google Voice Search and Gemini Voice tools across Gmail, Docs, and Keep. The update arrived globally this week for select subscribers. Google introduced the features to make daily tasks faster without requiring constant typing. Gemini understands spoken requests and turns them into useful actions across supported Google apps.

The new tools include Gmail Live, Docs Live, and Keep Live for Google AI subscribers. Gmail Live searches emails conversationally, while Docs Live builds documents from spoken ideas. Keep Live converts quick voice thoughts into structured notes and actionable lists. Google first previewed these voice capabilities during Google I/O 2026 before starting the current rollout.

Gmail Live focuses on finding information buried inside long email conversations. A spoken question can locate travel details, school updates, project information, or other inbox content. Gmail Live then provides an answer based on relevant messages from the inbox.

Docs Live works more like a voice-based writing partner for document creation. Spoken ideas can become organized sections, outlines, and initial drafts without starting from scratch. With permission, Gemini can also use information from Gmail, Drive, Chat, and the web.

Keep Live captures quick thoughts that normally remain scattered or unfinished. A spoken brain dump can become an organized note, checklist, reminder, or actionable list. The feature eliminates the need to format ideas as you capture them.

Google Workspace shared the rollout through its official X account, saying, “Do more with just your voice across Gmail, Docs, and Keep.”

Gmail Live and Keep Live are available for Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers. Docs Live currently requires Google AI Pro or Ultra access. Google plans to bring these features to Workspace business customers soon.
