A Galaxy Watch 5 Pro owner reported a painful blister on their wrist after allegedly wearing the smartwatch overnight. The user said the watch was fully charged before bedtime but was completely drained and unresponsive the next morning.
The report, shared online, drew attention as the skin injury appeared beneath the watch’s rear sensor area. The owner described the mark as a burn-like blister. He also said the device had not shown any obvious warning before the incident.
The sudden loss of battery power is a key part of the complaint. The user said the watch had enough charge to last through the night but failed to switch on after they woke up.
Several other Galaxy Watch owners have also posted similar accounts. They reported red circular marks, skin irritation and, in some cases, fluid-filled blisters after sleeping with their devices. Many of these reports mention unusually fast battery drain.
These accounts do not prove that the watches caused thermal burns. Skin reactions under smartwatches can also result from friction, sweat, moisture or an allergic response to materials. However, the combination of heat, rapid battery loss and skin damage has raised concerns among users.
Samsung did not publicly acknowledge an overheating defect in the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. The tech giant did not announce a recall, software fix or formal investigation linked to these reports.
Samsung’s standard guidance asks users to keep the watch clean and dry, adjust the strap for a comfortable fit, and remove the device if irritation develops. The company also offers support and device inspections when customers report hardware issues.
The lack of an official response left affected users seeking answers. Until Samsung provides more clarity, owners should treat the reports as unverified but serious. The incident highlights the need for clear safety guidance around wearable devices worn during sleep.
