Samsung is getting ready to launch its new flagship series, Galaxy S25, but the launch of the much-awaited Galaxy S25 Slim has been delayed.
According to some leaks, the slim version will not be launched along with the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Ultra at the Galaxy Unpacked event in January 2025, as earlier predicted. Instead, the Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to hit the market in Q2 2025.
Debayan Roy, the noted tipster, posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the Galaxy S25 Slim model number SM-S937x/DS will launch in Q2, 2025:
This could mean that Samsung is revamping its launching strategy for the flagship Samsung smartphones 2025 lineup. This could also suggest that the company is creating a lineup of S25 Slim similar to the Galaxy A and Galaxy FE series. As to when it will happen is anybody's guess, but it would be surely worth the wait.
Galaxy S25 Slim is a premium Samsung smartphone, aimed at taking on the new iPhone 17 Air from Apple. It would be a super-thin device with a thickness of 6 mm, way less than the Galaxy S24’s 7.6 mm thick design. Apple’s iPhone 17 Air is speculated to be 6.25mm in thickness, making Samsung Galaxy S25 the thinnest smartphone offering of 2025.
The new phone might carry a huge 4,700mAh to 5,000mAh battery with silicon-carbon anode technology. Therefore, it will offer a long battery life.
Display: Galaxy S25 will have a 6.66-inch screen. Hence, the device would be exceptionally tall. It will offer an immersive viewing experience like that of the Galaxy S24+.
Camera Setup: Photography enthusiasts would like the S25 Slim, with a strong triple camera setup at the back. The primary sensor, with an output of 200 MP, would be HP5, joined by a 50 MP ultra-wide lens and a 50 MP telephoto lens boasting 3.5x optical zoom.
Processor: The chipset of the Snapdragon 8 Elite will be underpinned to ensure that the S25 Slim packs powerful performance. Thus ranking among the best Android offerings in this regard.
The Galaxy S25 Slim seems to be one of the most promising handsets from Samsung. The ultra-thin smartphone segment is going to witness a fierce battle between the iPhone 17 Air and Galaxy S25 in 2025.
