BNB Standard Corporation (Nasdaq: BNC) plans to ring the Nasdaq opening bell on October 26 after appointing Alex Odagiu as chief executive. The event follows the company's September name change from CEA Industries and plans for a BNB Chain validator.
On October 20, the company announced that Odagiu will lead the ceremony at Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square, New York. Directors and executives will join him when the market opens at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time. Nasdaq will begin broadcasting the event at 9:15 a.m.
Odagiu addressed the company's plans in the announcement, saying, “Most institutional investors have yet to study BNB.” He added that the company wants investors to examine its BNB holdings, planned network operations and public financial disclosures. A replay of the ceremony will be available on its website and X account.
The company adopted the BNB Standard name on September 29 after asking the BNB community to vote on four options. The five-day advisory poll received 5,799 votes, and the winning name attracted about 47% of them. The board approved the change, which did not require a shareholder vote.
The rebranding did not change the company's Nasdaq trading symbol, BNC. Its warrants also retained their BNCWW and BNCWZ symbols. Its BNB treasury strategy began in July 2025, when it announced a USD 500 million private placement supported by 10X Capital and YZi Labs. The financing comprised USD 400 million in cash and USD 100 million in cryptocurrency, with more possible through warrant exercises.
Odagiu became CEO on October 19 after serving as interim president and a director since June. He previously worked at YZi Labs and Goldman Sachs International. A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission confirmed that he left YZi Labs upon taking office.
His appointment followed a June 23 cooperation agreement that ended a governance dispute between the company and YZi Labs. Under that agreement, Ella Zhang, Odagiu and Matthew Roszak joined the board, while YZi Labs ended its shareholder consent campaign. Roszak later chaired the committee that recommended Odagiu for the CEO position.
The October 19 SEC filing sets Odagiu's annual base salary at USD 525,000 and his target annual bonus at 75% of that amount. William Miller remains chief financial officer after leaving his interim chief executive duties.
BNB Standard also intends to operate a validator on BNB Chain. It will choose an infrastructure provider through a competitive process to handle technical operations, while retaining governance of the validator. The company says its BNB holdings will stay with qualified custodians during staking.
Validator rewards will depend on network activity and the validator's performance. The company has not announced a mainnet launch date or guaranteed any income from the operation. Odagiu described his priorities as growing BNB holdings per share and building a business on the network, “starting with our planned validator.”
On October 13, BNB Standard launched an expanded treasury dashboard that publishes adjusted net asset value and adjusted net asset value per share. The company said it will publish validator details there once operations begin. It has also identified its website and official X account as channels for material disclosures alongside SEC filings.
