Baldur's Gate 3 is still one of the finest tabletop dungeon-crawling games ever released, and even years after its 2023 launch, it remains a standout title. It’s been two years since the game was initially released; still, the game reigns on the Steam chart with more than 100,000 concurrent players each month. In its lifetime, this masterpiece by Larian Studios has sold over 15 million copies.
In most cases, developers abandon games after their official release. Larian Studios didn’t follow the same track. Instead, it often brings new fixes to address the most troublesome issues of the game. Recently, the developers shared a new patch note on Steam that has fixed multiple bothersome bugs and improved support for the modding community.
The latest Baldur’s Gate 3 patch note is dedicated to bug and crash fixes, with some modifications to the mod toolkit. This patch is implemented across platforms, with the patch note released on Steam. Notably, this update has fixed several crashes and performance issues, like the one that used to happen in the multiplayer mode when trying to change input.
Aside from this, another Xbox cross-play issue was addressed, along with the split-screen play bug, which bothered players when they used DLSS on Vulkan. Some of the gameplay bugs are also tackled. First among them includes the removal of Starry Forms by the Shadow Curse in the new subclasses.
The next gameplay issue that this patch note has fixed is the bug where multiplayer clients' avatars appeared invisible until movement. Furthermore, a bug causing the game world and main menu background to appear black after returning from character creation has been fixed.
Finally, a bug that used to enable players' crossplay while running a non-cross-play session has been fixed. This ensures that players have to make up their minds and enable cross-play to enjoy the game with friends. Larian even added a tutorial to make the process understandable for all.

The modding toolkit also received improvements to provide the modders with better support. The first thing that Larian fixed here is a crash that used to be caused by trying to rename characters or create resources within the toolkit.
These enhancements are aimed at improving the Baldur’s Gate 3 experience and creating a more stable and user-friendly environment for mod developers. Resolving the previous issues encourages the creation of new content and features.
Baldur’s Gate 3 continues getting post-launch care even after two years of its global release. At this point, the future of this franchise is uncertain. Reports indicate that Larian isn’t planning any Baldur’s Gate 4. However, Larian has made it clear that whether or not the next part appears, the existing one won’t be abandoned shortly. The more this game gets updates and fixes, the more the world of Baldur’s Gate 3 becomes more dynamic and engaging.
