Apple has rolled out the second public beta of iOS 18.3, just days after the release of iOS 18.2.1. While the previous update focused on bug fixes, this new beta introduces subtle changes aimed at improving user experience.
Currently, developer or part of the public beta program, you can now access the update to explore these refinements. However, remember that beta versions can come with glitches that might affect performance, including battery life. It’s advisable to test such software on a secondary device rather than your primary one.
In this beta, returned addition from the calculator application where you can replay results again without rewriting calculations. For example, entering the equal sign a few times results in repeating the calculation displayed on the screen – perfect for computation like doubling numbers. This feature was ended in the iOS18 version but has returned in this version.
The beta also brings minor changes to the Aero interface, including a redesign of the Camera Control icon in the Settings. Both approaches are not very creative, yet they brush up the user experience to another level of polish.
Some of the changes in this beta are internal most of the time however they help in making the system to be more efficient. Apple still intensively works on general reliability and readiness for future additions to the product.
This is only the second public beta, and presumably, Apple will provide more betas before releasing iOS 18.3 fully. These subsequent versions may add new elements or improve some of the existing elements of a product. Nevertheless, Apple has not shared an exact launch date for the actual version of the OS.
Currently, only iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 users who are developers or beta testers can download iOS 18.3 Public Beta 2. Apple Intelligence features are still only available on these devices, for the rest of the iPhone-wielding populace, it is still a no-go at the moment.
