Cricket-focused community platform CREX appointed media and digital industry veteran Anuj Bhasin as its Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) as the company looks to strengthen its commercial operations and enter its next phase of growth.

Bhasin brings more than 25 years of experience spanning media, sports, technology and digital businesses. His new role will focus on building CREX’s revenue strategy while identifying new commercial opportunities and partnerships around its cricket-focused platform.

Bhasin spent more than a decade with ESPN, part of the Walt Disney Company, where he served as Director – ESPN, South Asia. His responsibilities included sales, go-to-market strategy and strategic alliances.

His career has also included senior positions at Zee, HT Media, Network18, Eicher and iStream, where he gained experience across media, digital businesses, partnerships and commercial transformation.

Before joining CREX, Bhasin served as Chief Revenue Officer at Jagran New Media, where he was responsible for the company's broader commercial strategy. He has also worked as Principal Advisor – Growth & Transformation at S.I.E and has experience as a founder, including work connected with SaaS, monetization and business scaling.

Commenting on the appointment, Purushotam Rawat, CEO, CREX, said: “CREX has built a strong connection with cricket audiences, and the next opportunity is to translate that engagement into a larger, more diversified business ecosystem. Anuj brings a rare understanding of sports, media and monetization, along with experience in building businesses through periods of digital change. His perspective will be valuable as we scale what CREX can become.”

At CREX, Bhasin will oversee revenue development, commercial opportunities and strategic alliances across the company’s cricket ecosystem. His mandate will cover audience engagement, content and monetization as the platform works to expand its position in sports technology.

Speaking on his appointment, Anuj Bhasin said: “Cricket has one of the most engaged audiences in the world, but the opportunity lies in building an ecosystem around that engagement rather than treating it as a single revenue stream. CREX has the audience, product and category relevance to build something much larger, and I’m excited to work with the team on turning that potential into lasting value.”

Bhasin’s appointment gives CREX leadership experience across traditional sports media, digital platforms and strategic partnerships. The company will now look to use that expertise to deepen fan engagement while developing additional commercial avenues around cricket.

The move signals a greater focus on monetization alongside audience growth, with partnerships, content and other revenue opportunities expected to form an important part of CREX’s next stage of expansion.
