“Livlong Delivers Creative Technical Solutions for Better Understanding of Healthcare Challenges” Says Gaurav Dubey

Health insurance has long played a critical role in saving commoners from burning their pockets for medical emergencies. However, OPD charges have been kept out of its purview and unfortunately, it constitutes a major chunk of medical expenditure. LivLong, a healthcare technology company, is championing the cause of people in need of OPD insurance by assisting in claim settlements in India via LivLong Insurance. Analytics Insight has engaged in an exclusive interview with Gaurav Dubey, CEO of LivLong.

1.Kindly brief us about the company, its specialization, and the services that your company offers.

LivLong operates as a liaison between healthcare providers across India and their patients which in turn helps measure brand interest among customers. At LivLong, we employ technology to address developing health issues with facilities like LivLong's health plan that covers hospitalization and outpatient care.

Our objective is to become the market leader in consumer-direct (D2C) healthcare and wellness services. Our executive team has worked in the healthcare and insurance industries for more than ten years, so they know how the business climate, client needs, and required technology stack change over time.

2.With what mission and objectives were the company set up? In short, tell us about your journey since the inception of the company.

As a byproduct of IIFL's sixteen years of experience in the healthcare financing market, LivLong has become a successful business. We assist with claim settlements in India via LivLong Insurance, which led us to realize that out-of-pocket expenses (OPD charges) comprise most of all expenses but are never reimbursed. We have already altered healthcare in India through Livlong by selling more than 5 lakh health and other insurance products to the tech-savvy generation, and we hope to continue doing so.

To improve India's health, we have strengthened ourselves. We've come a long way from the three employees we had during the pre-revenue phase to the approximately two hundred members of our extended family during the revenue phase.

By the end of the fiscal year 2021–22, we will have safeguarded 4,100,000 lives while maintaining our core values of ease, affordability, and accessibility. By 2025, we will have reached 5 million individuals. With the dream of a flourishing India, Livlong was designed to assist with healthcare programs such as health risk assessment, outpatient and inpatient care, and claims processing. Our mission is to offer personalized care for all therapeutic and preventative medical procedures.

3.What is your biggest USP that differentiates the company from competitors?

The focus of the LivLong brand is currently on its OPD products. Our health insurance distribution network is among the industry's most robust. We hope that LivLong will meet the diagnostics, teleconsultations, in-person OPD consultations, medications, and other needs of the OPD market. For some product categories, LivLong will act as an aggregator, while for others, it will be the final producer and assure end-to-end service delivery. If we had to discuss the brand's benefits, we would say that it is currently performing fairly well in the insurance industry, that it has gained a large audience in the OPD sector, and that this audience is gradually expanding.

4.Please brief us about the products/services/solutions you provide to your customers and how they get value out of them.

The Medical Care Assembly

  • IPD Lab test packages that include everything are available at no extra cost and can be used at any of the OPD Cooperative research sites in India.
  • Availability of on-site medical advice from medical practitioners with the requisite education
  • Medical Expenses Coverage Insurance, which includes Comprehensive Health Insurance with Reasonable Premiums to Cover Medical Treatment Costs.

5. Kindly mention some of the major challenges the company has faced till now.

Due to the structure of the Indian healthcare system, OPD expenses are often not covered by insurance policies. This issue has not even begun to be prioritized by the administration.

Since the spread of COVID, this has developed into a significant worry. Telemedicine, cashless transactions, several aggregators for diagnostic testing, home sample collection, and the availability of aggregators that bring medicines to patients' homes are a few examples demonstrating how medicine is becoming more accessible. There is a need for and a tendency toward reform as this field grows more regulated and institutionalized.

One of the most important things this business needs to figure out right now is how to get its products to more people through a variety of channels. In response to this demand, we have created and found LivLong, a firm working in the outpatient care (OPD) and wellness sectors. The mission of the LivLong team is to become the nation's one-stop shop for healthcare finance.

6.How do you plan to revolutionize the Indian/US/Israel market and what are your plans to tap the market?

We are now preparing to create a health plan that will cover both outpatient and inpatient care at fees that are affordable for the patient and his or her family.

7.What are your growth plans for the next 12 months?

Our growth plan for the next 12 months includes building a reliable reputation for LivLong as a brand, starting user testing in a wide range of market categories, and spreading its reach across India.

8.Brief us about the proactive founder/CEO of the company and his/her contributions to the company and the industry.
