Unveiling the top 5 features that the brand-new Apple iPhone 15 got from Pixel 7

The advent of the iPhone 15 was a watershed moment in the growth of smartphone technology. Apple, famed for its forward-thinking style, included Pixel 7 features in its latest model. This technological convergence improved the user experience and demonstrated Apple's willingness to adapt and learn from its competitors. Thus, the iPhone 15 is a testament to the ever-changing field of smartphone technology, where learning and integration are critical to keeping ahead. Let's look at five features from the iPhone 15 presentation that the Pixel series already has.

1. Voice Isolation for Crisper Calls:

The iPhone 15 now has sharper, clearer phone calls, according to Apple's Deniz Teoman, thanks to a "more advanced machine-learning model." In other words, the iPhone 15 employs artificial intelligence to filter phone calls, separating your voice from distracting, undesired noises that intrude into your talk. However, Google demonstrated a similar function during the 2022 Made for Google event, when the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro phones were formally unveiled. The song is titled "Clear Calling." The Pixel 7 line, like the new iPhone 15 series, can filter background noises to eliminate annoying sounds such as wind and traffic. Additionally, it improves your voice during the performance.

2. Depth Control in Images:

Assume you took a selfie with your pal in the foreground. With the new iPhone 15, you can select to add a bokeh effect to your friend, ensuring that you are the photograph's focal point. You can even do the inverse. This feature is familiar to users of Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro. They, too, can use the Unblur editing tool to choose which subjects to blur and which to stay in focus.

3. 8GB RAM:

The Pixel 7 has 8GB of RAM, and the Pixel 7 Pro has 12GB of RAM. It means the Pixel 7 series should be able to juggle several apps and tasks like a skilled court jester. According to MacRumors, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have 8GB of RAM, an upgrade from the previous iPhone models. However, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus still have 6GB of RAM, which is the same as the iPhone 14 series. While 6GB of RAM is enough for most tasks, phones with 8GB of RAM or more can offer faster and smoother performance, especially when switching between different apps.

4. Transcription of voice memos:

If you have a friend or family member who is obsessed with voice notes, you'll adore iOS 17's audio message transcription function, which was unveiled in early June at WWDC 2023. This useful benefit, as the name implies, transcribes voice memos for you. As a result, if you are unable to listen to a voice memo for any reason, you can simply read the text. Last October, Google unveiled a similar function for the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. "You can stay in the loop without distracting your peers or plugging your ears to hear over the crowd," Google's Group Product Manager Jonathan Eccles claimed. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro can transcribe audio messages in four languages: English, Japanese, German, French, and Spanish.

5. USB-C:

Didn't you see this coming? Come on, Apple, it's about time you joined the USB-C bandwagon. The Cupertino-based tech behemoth never intended to abandon its proprietary Lightning port (perhaps because it made a fortune from its Made for iPhone program, which allows accessory producers to license it). However, due to an EU rule requiring device manufacturers to use USB-C as the standard of connectivity, Apple was forced to replace Lightning with USB-C.

Since its start in 2016, the Pixel series, on the other hand, has supported USB-C. In other words, the iPhone is seven years late to the USB-C party, but I'm glad Apple finally caught up.
