Is ChatGPT the Destruction of Google According to Gmail Creator

Gmail creator says the Open AI's ChatGPT can cause the destruction of google in two years

According to Gmail creator, Open AI's ChatGPT can be responsible for the destruction of google. Is ChatGPT the destruction of google?  Let us know about it clearly in this article.

ChatGPT, according to Gmail creator Paul Buccheit, has the potential to destroy Google in a year or two at most. Buccheit believes that ChatGPT will eliminate Google's most profitable product, aka Search, and that even if the global search engine giant catches up on artificial intelligence, it will be unable to fully deploy it without destroying the most valuable part of its business.

Since its release in November 2022, OpenAI's Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer, or ChatGPT, has been the talk of the town. It's essentially a chatbot prototype that uses AI to understand and respond to text. The real kicker is that it's designed to converse naturally – a domain long thought to be a Google forte – and so far, the results have been amazing, even surreal, leading to a meteoric rise in usage globally while giving OpenAI enough confidence to now—also—explore a paid version.

Naturally, the chatbot's rise and popularity have rung alarm bells in Mountain View, with CEO Sundar Pichai reportedly issuing "code red" and requesting Larry Page and Sergey Brin's assistance in expediting Google's AI projects. According to the New York Times, Google plans to "demonstrate a version of its search engine with chatbot features this year" and is working on more than 20 AI products to ostensibly compete with ChatGPT. More information is expected to be released at the upcoming Google I/O 2023 developer conference.

Google could be completely disrupted in a year or two. "AI will eliminate the Search Engine Result Page, which is where they make the majority of their money," Buccheit tweeted, adding that "even if they catch up on AI, they fully can't deploy it without destroying the most valuable part of their business!"

ChatGPT is built on GPT-3.5, a large language model that theoretically uses deep learning techniques (both supervised and reinforced) to provide detailed responses and articulate answers to queries across multiple domains. At its core, ChatGPT is intended for human-like conversations/interactions, but it is capable of much more, such as writing and debugging complex computer programmes and writing poetry. Its predecessor could only respond to text prompts and generate its text, but ChatGPT or GPT 3.5 is more engaging.

It does, however, have limitations. OpenAI has publicly acknowledged that ChatGPT can occasionally produce plausible-sounding but incorrect or illogical responses. It appears to know little about events that occurred after 2021 and is prone to misinformation and biases.
