1. With what mission and objectives was the company set up? In short, tell us about your journey since the inception of the company.
The foremost factor that led to the invention of On2Cook was the necessity to prepare healthy and tasty food in the quickest possible time span. Cooking as a function has remained stagnant for ages. It is often taken for granted as a tedious and unavoidable task, with the last major development being the invention of the microwave.
Besides, all existing & conventional cooking methodologies usually result in loss of colour, texture, structure, and water-soluble nutrients. It compels one to usually consume a higher quantity of overcooked food to obtain adequate nutrients, often leading to conditions like overeating, obesity, and allied issues.
With respect to the commercial kitchens, stats suggest that nearly 60% of restaurants fail within the first year of operation, while almost 80% hit a dead end five years down the line. The most common reasons for the same include, but are not confined to, excessive cooking time and energy bills, inefficient operations, high capex and opex, poor nutritional value, and high equipment cost.
A desire to address the aforementioned pain points and revolutionize the overall process of cooking instigated me to invent the first prototype of this AI-integrated combination cooking device, also the world’s fastest cooking appliance, and eventually incorporate a company in 2022.
With more than 12 patents across India, US, UK, and Russia, On2Cook is taking strides to build a healthy and energy-conscious smart community worldwide, while adhering to its mission of innovating in the Food Tech space and impacting kitchens across the globe. Some of the other milestones since inception include raising $3.3 million in funding in the Seed Round at a post-money valuation of $ 12.5 million, and winning more than 10 Design Awards, such as the iF Award, British Invention Show, International Design Award, Forbes DGEMS, etc.
2. Brief us about yourself and your role in the company.
I (Sanandan 'Sandy' Sudhir) am the inventor of On2Cook and also the Founder and Chief Technology Officer of the company, spearheading the overall technology and operations. An alumnus of the prestigious National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, I come with more than 22 years of Design Excellence and Leadership experience, while I've also won a number of Industrial design, Engineering & Management awards.
I am also the President and CEO of Invent India Innovations, which is focused on developing patentable and game-changing products with businesses across the globe, such as in India, Hong Kong, USA and Canada.
During my previous professional stints, I played a key role in defining the vision for Industrial design, innovation & concept development for organizations like GE Healthcare. With deep insights of both local & global perspectives in relation to market differentiation, product design practices, consumer preferences & trends, I am an inventor on more than 65+ Patent applications, including 32+ Global granted Patents.
3. What is your biggest USP that differentiates the company from competitors?
As mentioned, On2Cook is the world’s fastest cooking device, which in itself substantiates the fact that no other device is akin to it. The device marries the best of existing cooking methodologies to cook any food in one-third the usual time, save up to 50% on energy, and prepare healthier and more nutritious food than any other existing cooking method.
The AI-enabled patented smart cooking device combines induction and microwave, which cook the food from both inside and outside simultaneously. This dual approach drastically cuts down the cooking time and energy consumption while preserving the food’s water-soluble nutrients, texture, colour, flavour, and ensuring consistency in quality. The 6-in-1 device replaces many appliances like microwave, cooking tools, air fryer, deep fryer, pressure cooker, instant pot, oven etc.
On2Cook is further equipped with smart technology, including an app for recipe automation, which guides users through the cooking process and ensures consistent results. This feature is particularly beneficial for maintaining quality standards in commercial kitchens.
Designed with user-friendliness in mind, On2Cook is easy to operate and clean. Its integrated features, like the built-in stirrer and fume extraction system, further simplify the cooking process and maintain a clean cooking environment.
Additionally, it requires no gas connection and is designed to reduce the number of cooks required in a commercial kitchen while improving the overall consistency and quality of food cooked.
4. How do you see the company and the industry in the future?
With its pioneering technology, On2Cook will continue to push the boundaries of cooking technology, setting new industry standards for efficiency and quality. Our ongoing investment in research and development is expected to always keep On2Cook ahead of technological advancements while continuously improving its product offerings.
We also aim to be at the forefront of sustainability, with products designed to significantly reduce energy consumption and food waste, aligning with global environmental goals. We are committed to sustainable sourcing, manufacturing, and recycling practices.

Technology aimed at reducing food waste through better inventory management, portion control, and innovative storage solutions is also slated to gain prominence, while the industry is also likely to imbibe higher standards of food safety through better temperature control, contamination prevention, and real-time safety monitoring.
Increased use of blockchain technology to provide transparent and tamper-proof records of food sourcing and handling is also a strong probability in the near future.
5. What are your growth plans for the next 12 months?
On2Cook is one of the few inventions designed, patented & developed by an Indian in India, and is indeed the most remarkable and game-changing gift from India to the world. Recognized already as the biggest revolution in the kitchen industry, On2Cook has the potential of reaching every household globally, impacting not just individuals, families, and communities, but the entire F&B ecosystem, including the B2B as well as the B2C space.
In the immediate future, we see ourselves as a Leading Food Tech Appliance Company changing the face of cooking in various parts of the world, starting with India and expanding to markets like USA, Europe, Middle East & other countries.
We hope to develop a lot more range of products employing our patented technology for the B2B space while developing and nurturing a community of culinary excellence. Our focus will be on geographical, product, and customer segment expansion.

8. What’s your road map for the commercial kitchen appliances market?
Our current focus is squarely on the Horeca industry. We’re developing more than 20 different accessories to cater to various segments within this industry, making our current offering even more versatile. We’re also working on a larger device with a 10-liter capacity, slated for launch next year, which will require a three-phase power supply.
We’re not stopping there. We're developing new AI features and enhanced automation to broaden our product’s versatility, ensuring it meets a wider range of culinary needs. Additionally, we’re forging strategic partnerships to build a strong ecosystem around our technology, supporting the Horeca industry from start to finish.
