India’s Enthusiasm Towards Drone Technology is Amazing, Says PM Modi at Bharat Drone Festival

India is moving toward creating a strong drone manufacturing ecosystem in India through schemes like PLI

Given the impact of drone technology growing in the world, India is not ready to lag in this race. To promote this technology in the country, a 2-day (May 27-28) Bharat Drone Festival is being organized in Delhi's Pragati Maidan. PM Modi addresses the nation during the drone festival he says that " I am positively impacted by the drone festival. I request you all that all sectors of ministry and ministers must take a view of the festival arrangements done. And the youth of India is very much talented and they also highlighted the make in India thing".

India has the potential to become a global drone hub, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday as he inaugurated the country's biggest drone festival. "During the earlier governments, technology was considered part of the problem, efforts were made to prove it was anti-poor. Due to this, there was an atmosphere of indifference regarding the use of technology in governance before 2014. The poor suffered the most, the deprived, the middle class also suffered," the prime minister said, hitting out at former governments under the Congress.

"Technology has paved the way to ensure the last-mile delivery of government schemes." The PM also interacted with Kisan Drone pilots and startups at the drone exhibition center. He also witnessed open-air drone demonstrations.

As many as 1600 delegates comprising government officials, diplomats, armed forces, central armed police forces, PSUs, private companies, and drone startups are expected to participate in the two-day event. More than 70 exhibitors will display various use cases of drones at the exhibition," the statement.
