Regular updates improve application performance, add new features, and enhance security. Although automatic updates are enabled by default on Apple devices, they can also be manually updated if necessary. Below is how to update apps manually for different types of Apple devices and control automatic update settings.
Open the App Store application.
Tap the profile icon at the top of the screen.
Scroll down to the section displaying pending updates and release notes.
Tap Update beside an individual app to update it, or select Update All to apply updates to all listed apps.

Launch the App Store.
Tap Account at the bottom.
Tap Updates.
Tap Update next to an app to update it individually or tap Update All to update several apps at once.
Go to Settings > App Store.
Turn the App Updates toggle on or off.
Enable or disable the App Updates toggle.
Open the App Store app.
From the menu bar, select App Store > Settings (or Preferences).
Use the checkbox to turn Automatic Updates on or off.
Open Settings > App Store on your device.
Tap the toggle next to Automatic Updates to turn it on or off.
Alternatively, access the Apple Watch application on a paired iPhone, navigate to the App Store settings, and adjust the toggle.
Navigate to Settings > Apps on your device.
Select or deselect the Automatically Update Apps option.
