Google CEO Promises to Add Advanced AI Features to its Search Engine

Google has promised to bring new AI features to its Search Engine to compete with ChatGPT

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Google, said on Thursday that the search engine will soon include cutting-edge AI features. Google, which boasted in its earnings call that it is the company behind the current generative AI craze, announced plans to incorporate more of the technology into the majority of its products, including some advanced AI features in Gmail. The introduction of these advanced AI features in Google products appears to have neutralized a threat posed by the Microsoft-OpenAI alliance.

Google plans to bring advanced AI features to keep itself number one. According to Report, Google is testing some of these features with employees as part of a "code red" plan to counter ChatGPT, the popular chatbot backed in part by Microsoft. They consider a chatbot called "Apprentice Bard," as well as new search desktop designs that could be used in a question-and-answer format. He made reference to Google's conversation technology LaMDA, or Language Model for Dialogue Applications, saying that "very soon, users will be able to interact directly with our newest, most powerful language model as a companion to Search, in novel and innovative ways." The business will disclose the large language model "in the next weeks and months," according to Pichai so that it can receive additional feedback. On the company's earnings call for the fourth quarter, executives brought up artificial intelligence repeatedly. Pichai stated in his introduction that "AI is the most significant technology we are working on today."

Google is making an effort to draw attention to AI features as the company deals with pressure on its core advertising business and a competitive threat from one of its longtime rivals. ChatGPT, a Microsoft-backed OpenAI product that was released late last year, is also putting pressure on Google. Web search is Google's main industry, and the corporation has long hailed itself as an AI pioneer. But since they may offer original solutions to trickier questions, generative AI technologies like ChatGPT could endanger the entire model of internet search.
