Google has launched its artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot Bard in select countries to compete with rival ChatGPT after the massive success of Microsoft-supported ChatGPT. Google Bard is an AI-powered chatbot tool that uses natural language processing and machine learning to mimic human conversations. Bard can be incorporated into websites, messaging platforms, or applications to provide user questions with realistic, natural language responses in addition to Google search.
Based on Google's Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA) technology, Google Bard is built. LaMDA was developed using Transformer, a 2017 release of Google's neural network architecture. Since Transformer was made open source by Google, it has served as the foundation for other generative AI tools, like the GPT-3 language model in ChatGPT.
The generative AI-tuned ChatGPT of OpenAI generates everything from creative writing to synopses. Bard, on the other hand, is built around search.
