The sports-simulation gaming genre is mostly captured by Electronic Arts and 2K. However, still, when it comes to skateboarding video games, there’s not much choice. The only franchise that has been shining brightly is Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Naturally, many gamers have never heard of these games because skateboarding is still a bit less popular than other sports, and the last main entry was released a decade back in 2015.

Endorsed by the American professional skateboarder Tony Hawk, this gaming series provides gamers with a realistic skateboarding experience, and once again, after years, Activision is finally coming with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 Remaster, which is set to launch on July 11, 2025.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater: Revitalizing Classic Gameplay with Modern Enhancements

It’s already been a few months since Tony Hawk, the renowned American skateboard professional, has talked about a remaster version to be released. However, after that, there was literally no news of any new Tony Hawk's Pro Skater game to be released until recently, when the developer team talked about it and officially announced its release date.

After the 1+2 Remaster, the anticipation for the 3+4 Remaster is already high, and according to the sources, the upcoming remaster version is aimed at delivering an experience that honors the original titles while integrating modern advancements. Therefore, once this game launches, players will probably once again get the chance to revisit iconic levels like the Foundry and Airport from Pro Skater 3 and the College and Alcatraz from Pro Skater 4. This time, these experiences will be more impressive and realistic with the integration of modern technology and high graphics. As per the announcement, the game will support 4K resolution to align with the contemporary gaming standard.

Bringing a remaster doesn’t depend solely on impressive graphics. Therefore, the upcoming skateboarding video game will bring refined gameplay mechanics. The classic scoring system will be the same, but the multiplayer mode will add cross-platform support, which will allow players to have up to eight players to skate with.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 Remaster: Game Editions and Unique Content

The remastered version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 boasts a wider roster that is going to combine legendary skaters with contemporary talents. For instance, iconic skateboarding stars like Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, and Rodney Mullen are returning with Rayssa Leal and Yuto Horigome. This will clearly highlight the evolution of skateboarding as a sport over the years.

Aside from that, another standout feature of the game is the addition of Doom Slayer from the Doom franchise. The most exciting part is that this legendary character will be available as a playable one in the Digital Deluxe Edition.

Like most other games, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 Remaster will be featured in different editions to suit a varied range of gamers:

  • Standard Edition ($49.99): The standard edition will include the base game and the Foundry demo. This will allow players to experience a classic level before the global release of the game.

  • Digital Deluxe Edition ($69.99): Next comes the Digital Deluxe edition, which offers all the items that the Standard edition has, with exclusive Doom-themed content, and early access to the game three days before the official release.

  • Collector’s Edition ($129.99): This edition comprises all the content that the previous two editions offer and adds a limited edition Birdhouse skateboard deck, appealing to collectors and skateboarding enthusiasts alike.

Apart from that, a number of iconic songs will be added to the iconic title. Though the entire list hasn’t been given, here are some of the confirmed tracks that are returning to the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 Pro Skater Remaster:

  • "Amoeba" by Adolescents

  • "Ace of Spades" by Motorhead

  • "Mass Appeal" by Gang Starr

  • "96 Quite Bitter Beings" by CKY

  • "Not the Same" by Bodyjar

  • "Outta Here" by KRS-One

A few more will also be added, but until now, there’s no news of which are going to be there in the final version.

Conclusion

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 Remaster has created massive excitement among the franchise's long-time fans. Gamers who used to play sports games during the 90s- there’s no way they have missed this immensely popular franchise. Therefore, the news of refined mechanics coming with classic elements makes it more exciting for them while attracting a fresh audience.
