Of the four words for today, CRANK would have been the most difficult word to guess, owing to its mechanical definition, whereas PHONY can be easily mistaken for other words such as ‘phony’ and ‘fake’. CRACK is a flexible word with multiple definitions and would have taken players some time to guess. On the other hand, SLURP is a common word that players would recognize at once.
Today’s Quordle kind of gave me a fun bundle of words that were both easy-ish and a bit sneaky, if that makes sense. The same letters showing up again and again, plus the extra meanings those words can carry, created that right amount of challenge, not too much, not too little. And if you actually cracked all four answers within the nine guesses, then congrats, you’ve pulled off another Quordle win, yeah.
