Elon Musk Pitched Integrating Doge with Twitter blue: Will This Work Out?

Elon Musk acquires a 9.2% stake in Twitter and wants to make changes as a board member

The billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX who now owns 9.2% of Twitter is a prolific Twitter user, often moving markets with his tweets. He was appointed to Twitter's board of directors this month and said he looks forward to working with the board to make "significant improvements to Twitter in the coming months.

Launched in June, Twitter Blue is the social media giant's first subscription service for those willing to pay for exclusive access to special features such as an "Undo Tweet" feature, customized Twitter app icons, and the ability to add bookmarks.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has actively been engaging Twitter's users regarding potential improvements to the social media platform since he took a 9.2% stake in the company and promised to make "significant improvements" to the platform. One of the ideas he has been discussing on Twitter concerns the authentication checkmark. Musk suggested that everyone who signs up for the Twitter Blue subscription service and pays US$3 a month should get an authentication checkmark. Replying to a user asking for the fee to be lower in Argentina since an entire family eats for US$3 there, the Tesla boss agreed that it "should be proportionate to affordability & in local currency." In addition, he suggested that one of the payment options could be "to pay in dogecoin."

Also, the company already lets people tip their favorite content creators using bitcoin. Twitter had said last year that it planned to support authentication for NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, which are digital assets such as images or videos that exist on a blockchain.

Musk also started a poll on his Twitter account – which has more than 81 million followers – asking whether the firm's San Francisco headquarters should be converted to a homeless shelter as "no one shows up (to work there)". The poll got more than 300,000 votes in an hour, with 90% answering yes.
