Claudeforce connects Claude with Salesforce data, workflows, business rules, and approved CRM actions.
Agentforce annual contract value has crossed USD 1.5 billion, with growth above 240% year over year.
September’s open beta could test enterprise demand for AI agents that perform real CRM tasks.
Salesforce and Anthropic have turned a major AI partnership into a direct test of how AI can handle real enterprise work. The two companies announced Claudeforce on August 26, with a plan that puts Claude next to Salesforce data, workflows, business rules, actions, and governance.
The first product, Salesforce in Claude, gives Claude access to live revenue and pipeline context. Claude can prepare sales calls, review deals, assess pipeline health, and update records.
The move matters far more than a new chatbot feature. Salesforce wants its CRM to serve as a trusted work layer for AI agents, while Anthropic wants Claude to act on enterprise data rather than only answer questions about it.
Salesforce says Salesforce in Claude will start with 37 prebuilt sales skills. Claude can use Salesforce context for sales-call preparation, deal health checks, pipeline reviews, and record updates. Select customers can test the product now, while Salesforce expects an open beta in September.
The deeper shift comes from Salesforce Headless 360 and AIforce. Salesforce now offers core enterprise capabilities through software interfaces, Model Context Protocol servers, and command line tools.
Authorized agents can access data, business rules, workflows, and actions without a normal Salesforce screen. That design gives Claude a route into CRM work while Salesforce keeps control over access and company rules.
This model also changes the role of CRM software. A sales representative may no longer need to open a CRM for every small task. Claude can read account details, review a deal, suggest an action, and send an approved change back through Salesforce. The CRM can remain the source of truth while Claude handles the logic layer. That shift gives CRM software a new role inside enterprise AI systems.
The partnership does not stop with Claude outside Salesforce. Salesforce has placed Claude inside Agentforce, its own AI agent platform. Claude supports the Atlas engine and serves as the default model for Agentforce Vibes and Agentforce Coworker. Salesforce also offers Claude through Agent Builder and within its Trust Boundary through Amazon Bedrock.
Salesforce has also built strong financial proof around the agent strategy. In its second quarter of fiscal 2027, the company reported USD 11.3 billion in revenue, up 11% year over year. cRPO reached USD 33.5 billion, up 14%.
Agentforce annual contract value passed USD 1.5 billion, up more than 240% year over year. Agentforce and Data 360 annual contract value reached nearly USD 3.9 billion, up more than 210%.

Salesforce reported 7.0 billion Agentic Work Units across Agentforce and Slack to date, with 3.2 billion in the second quarter alone. The quarterly figure rose 97% from the prior quarter. Salesforce defines an Agentic Work Unit as a discrete task that an AI agent executes in production, such as a customer case resolution, a record update, or an automated workflow trigger.
Those figures give the Claudeforce deal a clear business context. Salesforce does not view agents as a side feature. The company now ties AI activity to measurable work across sales, service, Slack, data, and other parts of its platform.
The financial market reacted fast. Salesforce raised its full-year fiscal 2027 revenue forecast to USD 46.1 billion to USD 46.4 billion, up from USD 45.9 billion to USD 46.2 billion. Reuters reported a 22.6% rise in Salesforce shares on August 27 after the results and partnership news.

The real test now sits ahead. September's open beta will show whether enterprise customers move from AI help to AI action at scale. The key issue will not be whether Claude can understand a sales record.
Claudeforce gives Salesforce and Anthropic a strong answer to one of the biggest questions in enterprise software: what happens when AI gains direct access to the systems that hold company data? Salesforce can provide the data, rules, identity, and audit controls. Anthropic can provide the logic. If that model works at scale, the CRM may become less of a screen for human work and more of a secure work layer for AI.
