In 2015Amy Gile co-founded Silverdraft with Dr. Srinidhi Varadarajan and worked to develop solutions that overcame significant content creation challenges of Hollywood. Silverdraft uses supercomputing architecture to address the significant computational and processing needs of high-end rendering, VFX, and visualization in the digital age. It has partnered with exceptional companies like Disney, GoPro, Nissan, Volkswagen, ESPN, CBS and more.

Meet the Visionary Trailblazer

Amy Gile, the Co-Founder and CEO of Silverdraft, began her career in media and entertainment industry nationally and internationally. As a producer in the M&E sector, she identified challenges and bottlenecks in the industry's workflow. Amy saw the difficulties experienced by VFX artists, directors, and producers working with subpar performing hardware. She was driven to address such bottlenecks and knew there was a better way.  Amy founded Silverdraft so that artists could freely create rendering, animation, and visual effects. The company focuses on enabling its clients across multiple verticals by solving the challenge of adding new but critical technology adaptation.

Building an Immersive World

Today, the visualization challenges and techniques historically found in Hollywood have been expanded to include designers and engineers from other industries such as automotive, furniture and AEC, to name a few. Amy asserts that with Silverdraft, clients can express their vision, unencumbered by hardware limitations. The company appreciates its clients' businesses and time invested in Silverdraft, delivering its product with total configuration and launch ready to go so that companies don't have extra downtime doing their work themselves.

Embracing Technologies to Drive Better Decisions

Amy feels that digital technologies are impacting today's innovation by doing two critical things. First, they are accelerating humans' ability to perform and innovate things. Second, they are enabling businesses as well as individuals with more data to make better decisions. They are also taking the guesswork out of many things and helping to make the world safer, more connected and enabling faster access to important data. This also means that modern-day leaders have access to more data to help position their companies to serve their target markets and customers with the best experiences. Further, the visualization of data allows them to take past and present data and model scenarios of possibilities.

Amy says, Silverdraft can build incredible technology, but if it is not what its clients need, it is useless.

Victorious Leadership Traits

Emphasizing on transformational leadership attributes, Amy believes every leader must pose grit, determination, objective thinking, flexibility, resiliency and most importantly, a keen sense of humour to be successful. "You need to be able to shed light on a situation, have some fun and not take yourself too seriously," she said.

Overcoming Challenges by Self-Motivation

Speaking on initial challenges, Amy explains that during the initial phase of Silverdraft, she found herself always being underestimated and not taken seriously by her peers as she was a woman. And for the same reason, it was difficult to get funding for the company. She noticed that often times, the male authorities were trying to dominate her by claiming to offer aid to save her company whereas in reality everything was fine and manageable.

As a former model and actor, Amy had to run her own business by herself. Though that was not easy. Amy shares that she had to be tough, not take things personally and be willing to learn, adjust and figure things out continuallyAfter enduring several things in life, she learnt that her voice matters, she must stand up for herself and must support and elevate those around me. "I do not want to be the smartest one in the room, but I better make sure I have the smartest people around me," she added.

The Path Ahead

Amy is excited about the future of Silverdraft as the company is in a unique position to service its clients. Silverdraft has been an innovator and at the forefront of data visualization. It has built a solid reputation and client base. Amy is confident that the company will continue to push what is possible and collaborate and help its clients succeed as the technology evolves.

Words of Wisdom to Budding Women Leaders

Amy advises emerging women leaders to identify what they are capable of and to understand their strengths and weaknesses. She asks them to leverage those strengths and surround themselves with people that can help develop and improve those weaknesses. "There are going to be a lot of really tough days as a leader, and it is important to understand yourself. It is also incredibly important to establish a strong network and continue to grow your reach. Lastly, be authentic, lead with love, and be true to who you are as a person," she adds.
