Meme coins Shiba Inu (SHIB), Dogecoin (DOGE), and new Big Eyes Coin (BIG) are all giving something back to the world. Despite the bad press, cryptocurrencies aren't all doom and gloom – many of the coins have now integrated philanthropic endeavors into their whitepapers.
Determined to make a positive impact, Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) have changed the finance narrative by actively making a difference. Is this what happens when finance becomes community focused?
The Shiba Inu (SHIB) ecosystem (unsurprisingly) passionately supports the Shiba Inu Rescue Association, a charity that helps to fund shelters saving dogs in need. The Shiba Inu (SHIB) community encourages members to leverage Amazon Smile, which donates a portion of purchases to the charity.
Shiba Inu (SHIB) is also a part of 'The Giving Block', a platform that accepts crypto donations from nonprofit charities. Save the Children, the American Cancer Society, and hundreds more have chosen to be a part of the Giving Block and could receive donations through Shiba Inu (SHIB).
Interestingly, Vitalik Buterin of Ethereum was gifted billions of dollars in Shiba Inu (SHIB) tokens. He donated $1 billion, 10% of his holdings, to the India Relief Fund. Although this was not a direct decision made by Shiba Inu (SHIB) itself, he released a statement saying that he was 'impressed with how the dog communities have treated the recent donations' noticing Shiba Inu's determination to 'make the world better as a whole'.
The Dogecoin (DOGE) community passionately donates and supports a wide variety of charitable causes. In 2014 the Dogecoin (DOGE) community voted and raised $30,000 for the Jamaican bobsled team to support their return to the Winter Olympics. Dogecoin (DOGE) continued on this philanthropic path by raising $50,000 for their Doge4Water project. Dogecoin (DOGE) has also donated Doge computer power to the study of various types of cancer in order to find a treatment.
Currently, Dogecoin (DOGE) is running a project called 'Doge for Dogs', a charity that rescues and helps dogs suck inside overcrowded shelters. Dogecoin (DOGE) does all of this work through Dogedonate.com, a sister website. To maintain transparency, the charities create a Doge wallet to receive donations, instead of automatically adding them to the coin itself.
Through this active charitable work, Dogecoin (DOGE) has changed the game for cryptocurrencies. Dogecoin (DOGE) proves that crypto can pave the way for a much more philanthropic society.
Big Eyes (BIG) is following in these philanthropic footsteps, copying the charity work of Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Dogecoin (DOGE) by donating 5% of its coins to ocean sanctuary charities. The cute Big Eyes (BIG) mascot is a cat with a love of sushi and it is therefore in his interest to maintain the health of the oceans. By integrating this support into the whitepaper, Big Eyes (BIG) is both passionate and transparent about this endeavor. Their timeline hopes for an eventual $1 million donation!
