A cybercriminal infiltrated the systems of OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, according to a report.
According to the report, the cybercriminals somehow managed to peep at personal conversations and might also have retrieved details about its AI projects. The New York Times said that the hacker had breached data from private dialogues among OpenAI’s employees on the techs they were working on.
However, they failed to access the areas where OpenAI's products are developed and stored, the report noted. The report further stated that OpenAI's leadership informed the company's employees and the board of directors about the breach in April of the previous year, but chose not to disclose the specifics due to the absence of any data theft from customers or partners.
The organisation concluded that law enforcement should not be informed of the data breach, since the organization assumed that the attacker was an unaligned person who was not affiliated to any overseas authorities.
