Plaud introduced a new pair of wireless earbuds designed to do more than play music. The Plaud One Explorer Edition combines earbuds with recording and transcription tools, allowing users to capture conversations and turn them into written summaries.
The new device is priced at USD 249.99 and is now available for pre-order in selected markets. Shipping is expected to begin in late September 2026, giving Plaud another entry point into the growing market for AI-powered personal gadgets.
Unlike conventional wireless earbuds, the Plaud One is designed around recording as one of its key functions. Each earbud has three microphones and can capture audio from up to two metres away, according to the company.
The earbuds have 16MB of storage each, giving the pair 32MB of onboard storage. Plaud says they can record for up to six hours, which is also the estimated maximum battery life of the earbuds. Noise cancellation is included, along with force-activated controls built into the stems.
The earbuds do not have to be used in someone's ears to record. Users can also rely on the charging case, giving the product a second way to capture conversations.
The charging case is an important part of the Plaud One system. It has four microphones capable of recording from as far as five metres, along with a built-in speaker and 512MB of storage.
The case also features built-in 4G connectivity. This allows recordings to be uploaded and processed without depending on a connected smartphone or Wi-Fi connection, which could make the device more useful during meetings, interviews or situations where carrying a phone is inconvenient.
With the earbuds and case combined, Plaud estimates up to 36 hours of battery life. The case can be charged using USB-C.
The hardware works alongside Plaud Intelligence, the company's software platform for transcription and summaries. The system can turn recorded conversations into text and generate summaries, potentially saving users from manually reviewing long recordings.
Another feature is Plaud Agent, which can be activated using a dedicated button on the charging case. It integrates with services including Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion and Slack, allowing information from conversations to be connected with other productivity tools.
That makes the product more than a conventional audio recorder. Plaud is positioning it as a productivity device for people who regularly attend meetings, conduct interviews, or need to keep track of conversations.

The Plaud One Explorer Edition costs USD 249.99. Pre-orders opened on August 27 in selected markets, with shipments scheduled to begin in late September.
