Adani Energy Solutions reached fresh highs amid strong institutional investor interest.
Jefferies expects transmission investments to drive sustained earnings and expansion.
Adani Power and Green benefit from India’s growing energy demand.
Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. climbed to a fresh 52-week high of around Rs. 1,602 on June 8, extending a rally that has added more than 60% to the stock since April. The surge follows a series of positive developments, including fresh institutional buying and a bullish outlook from global brokerage Jefferies.
The broker remains bullish on several Adani Group companies, as India’s rising power demand, along with grid extensions and renewable initiatives, may fuel growth in the transmission, generation, and clean energy sectors.
Jefferies has maintained its Buy rating on Adani Energy Solutions with a target price of Rs. 1,665. The brokerage’s investment case centers on transmission infrastructure. India will have to spend a great deal on expanding and upgrading its power grid due to rising power demand and increasing production from renewable energy sources. Transmission networks must be built whenever a new solar or wind farm comes online or an industrial zone is established.
Adani Energy Solutions is one of the country’s largest private transmission operators and remains the only listed private-sector pure-play transmission and distribution company. Jefferies believes the company is well placed to benefit from new project awards and sustained growth in its regulated asset base.
The transmission business also offers predictable cash flows, making it less vulnerable to commodity price swings than power generation companies.
Investor confidence received another boost after SBI Mutual Fund acquired a 0.52% stake in Adani Energy Solutions through a block deal worth nearly Rs. 958 crore.
The shares were purchased from GQG Partners at Rs. 1,504.8 each. The transaction came as part of a larger Rs. 5,750-crore deal involving Adani Group companies.
Large purchases by domestic institutional investors often signal confidence in long-term fundamentals. The deal suggests major investors remain constructive on the company’s growth outlook despite the stock’s sharp gains over the past few months.

Additionally, Jefferies has a positive outlook on Adani Power due to a favorable demand environment in the Indian power sector.
Electricity demand has been increasing due to growth in industry, urbanization, ACs, e-vehicles, and data centers. Electricity peak demand has been reaching new highs, thereby driving power generation demand.
These positive demand trends have benefited Adani Power through a higher plant load factor and improved profitability. Recently, Adani Power became the most valuable Indian-listed power generator, owing to improved profitability and positive expectations for future demand trends.
The investment bank expects the electricity demand in India to grow over the next decade.
Adani Green Energy is yet another important component in Jefferies’ optimistic outlook on the firm.
Adani Green has targeted expanding its renewable energy portfolio from 19 GW to about 50 GW by 2030. This portfolio expansion comprises solar, wind, hybrid, battery storage, and pumped storage projects.
According to Jefferies, scale is one of the firm’s most significant strengths. It has developed one of the largest renewable energy portfolios globally and is expanding rapidly.
The latest earnings have revealed higher power revenues and improved operational efficiency. Lower battery storage prices and government incentives for renewable energy will strengthen the economic case in the coming years.

The commonality of all three stocks from Adani Energy Solutions, Adani Power, and Adani Green lies in one factor: India’s energy needs.
There will be a need for significant investment in the transmission grid, power generation, renewable energy projects, and energy storage capabilities. The increasing economic growth, manufacturing capacity, and energy needs of India will drive further investment for many years to come.
According to Jefferies, the Adani Group has already established a presence across all aspects of the energy industry. This includes transmission infrastructure for renewables, thermal energy to meet increased energy demand, and renewable energy projects aligned with India’s renewable energy targets.
In addition to the increase in Adani Energy Solutions’ stock price, there has been a renewed focus from institutional investors. The success of the future depends on how this is executed and what kind of energy needs of India can be met through the Adani Group.
