Crypto News Today: Top Headlines Impacting Prices

Bitcoin Slips as Iran Tensions Rise

President Trump rejected Iran's seven-day plan to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude jumped back above USD 100 a barrel, lifting the dollar and Treasury yields across global markets.

The US 10-year Treasury yield rose to 5.27% on Monday, its highest level since June 2007. Iran denied reports of peace progress, and traders price a 65% chance of another Fed hike.

Zcash Drops 12% as Rally Cools

Zcash fell about 12% to near USD 1,370, making it the weakest major coin in the top 12. The privacy token had gained roughly 70% over the past month before sellers stepped in.

Alex Kuptsikevich, Chief Market Analyst at FxPro, said Bitcoin pulled back to USD 83,000. The CoinDesk 100 index dropped 2.6% as Friday's winners reversed.

Citi, Coinbase Expand Stablecoin Payments

Citi and Coinbase announced two new products that link stablecoins with traditional banking for business clients. Institutional clients of Citi can accept stablecoin payments at checkout, with Coinbase handling conversion into dollars.

Coinbase Virtual Accounts, built on Citi's banking infrastructure, automatically convert incoming dollars into stablecoins. Merchants never need to hold or custody digital assets for corporate clients.

Corporate Buyers Add More Bitcoin

Strive added 1,107 BTC worth USD 94.5 million, lifting its treasury holdings past 27,000 BTC. Strategy also added 1,665 BTC, which shows corporate demand remains steady even as prices retreat from September highs.

Bitmine, led by Tom Lee, bought roughly USD 47 million in Ether, taking its stake to 4.9% of total supply. Steady treasury buying gives Ether a cushion while ETF flows stay positive.

US Data Week Begins with JOLTS

US JOLTS job openings and consumer confidence data both land today. Neither usually moves crypto much alone, though a hot labor reading could strengthen the case for another rate hike in October.

The Fed lifted rates to a range of 3.75% to 4% on September 16. PCE inflation arrives Wednesday, followed by the September jobs report on Friday.

Investor and Market Outlook

Bitcoin sits at the lower edge of its consolidation range, with USD 82,000 to USD 82,500 as key support. A daily close above USD 84,000 would reopen USD 85,000.

Investors should track Wednesday's PCE print and Friday's payrolls closely. Staggered entries and modest leverage remain the sensible approach after roughly USD 330 million in liquidations.
