Indiesemic Private Limited, a Gujarat-based semiconductor design company, today launched India’s first IoT Evolution Board at Semicon India 2025 in Delhi, in the presence of Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Railways, Communications & Electronics & IT, Government of India. Developed in collaboration with C-DAC, the board integrates the indigenous VEGA processor with Bluetooth and LoRa connectivity designed by Indiesemic. The launch is aimed at helping enterprises and startups accelerate prototyping, strengthen security, and reduce reliance on imported hardware. With applications in smart cities, industrial automation, healthcare, defence, and aerospace, the IoT Evolution Board is a step toward building India’s self-reliance in strategic technologies under Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India.
Indiesemic, founded in 2023, is building India’s capability in chip design for drones, cameras, and automotive applications, while also developing certified RF modules and system platforms. The IoT Evolution Board is the company’s first system-level product, engineered as a development and deployment-ready hardware platform. By combining indigenous compute power with dual wireless connectivity in a compact form factor, it offers industries a faster route from concept to market. The launch also signals the beginning of structured collaborations between government R&D and startups in semiconductor design, positioning India to create homegrown platforms that serve both domestic needs and global market.
Speaking on the launch, Nikul Shah, Founder & CEO, Indiesemic, said, “India has long been a consumer of global hardware platforms, but with the IoT Evolution Board, we are flipping that narrative. By integrating C-DAC’s VEGA processor with our wireless modules, we are offering industries a truly indigenous alternative that is accessible, scalable, and future-ready. What makes it powerful is the fact that it brings the benefits of deep tech to a much wider audience from startups in Tier-II cities building smart infrastructure solutions to defence establishments requiring secure communication systems. Our objective has always been to simplify access to advanced semiconductor platforms so that innovation is no longer restricted to big corporations with global supply chains. By making the IoT Evolution Board available through our partners and direct enterprise engagements, we want to ensure that every innovator, no matter how small, has the tools to create impactful IoT solutions. This is the democratization of technology, and I believe it will shape the next chapter of India’s growth in digital and hardware-led transformation.”
Since its inception, Indiesemic has rapidly emerged as a trusted partner in India’s semiconductor ecosystem. The company currently works with more than 60 customers across IoT, automotive, and industrial sectors through its portfolio of 10+ WPC-ETA certified RF modules. With the introduction of the IoT Evolution Board, Indiesemic is moving beyond modules to deliver a complete system-level platform, offering enterprises a seamless bridge between compute and connectivity.
Adding to this, Jinal Shah, Co-Founder & CMO, Indiesemic, said, “At Indiesemic, we see this as the beginning of an ecosystem where compute, connectivity, and intelligence come together on an indigenous platform. For startups, this means faster prototyping. For industries, it means secure, reliable systems for mission-critical use cases. And for India as a whole, it means building self-reliance in one of the most strategic areas of technology. We are already seeing interest from enterprises working in smart cities, health-tech, industrial IoT, and even aerospace. The response validates our belief that indigenous platforms can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with global counterparts.”
Looking ahead, Indiesemic is building a roadmap that extends beyond IoT to AI-at-the-edge computing and RISC-V SoCs, including both single-core and quad-core processors. These processors are being developed to address applications in industrial automation, defence, health-tech, and smart infrastructure. By combining its expertise in RF modules, IoT boards, and AI-enabled SoCs, the company is shaping India’s first vertically integrated semiconductor ecosystem, enabling enterprises to innovate and scale on a fully indigenous foundation.
With the launch of the IoT Evolution Board, Indiesemic has taken an important step towards bridging India’s design capabilities with global standards, while reinforcing the country’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and strengthening its position in next-generation hardware innovation.
