Zoomcar Holdings, Inc. (OTCQX: ZCAR) (“Zoomcar” or “the Company”), India’s leading car-sharing marketplace, today unveiled its Hosting Insights 2025, a data-rich look at how everyday Indians are turning idle cars into reliable monthly income and scaling into micro-entrepreneurship on the platform. In 2024, hosts on Zoomcar collectively earned ₹113 crore, supported by an active community of 25,000 hosts across the country. This is evidence that hosting has moved from experiment to mainstream income stream.
Zoomcar’s data shows the economics are working for individual car owners. A typical hosted car earns ₹25,000 to ₹30,000 per month, which can comfortably offset an approximately ₹18,000 monthly EMI for popular models. New hosts do not have to wait long to see traction. The first booking typically arrives within 3 to 4 days of listing, which turns under-utilised assets into cash flow quickly. As confidence and capability build, many hosts are scaling up, with 12% now operating more than one car and new host sign-ups growing 61% year on year.
The next wave of supply is coming from India’s Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, where hosting is emerging as a practical side hustle and, increasingly, a small business. So far in 2025, 3,755 new cars have been added to the platform, and 21% of new listings come from beyond the metros. This underscores how access and entrepreneurship are spreading into the heartland.
A strong trust framework underpins this growth. Hosts report 92% positive guest behaviour, and hosts rate guests an average 4.5 out of 5. These outcomes reinforce the platform’s safety-first operating model of verified guests, insurance-backed trips, and transparent ratings. Each active host enables around 60 bookings a year, and hosted cars collectively powered 173 million kilometres of travel in 2024, delivering mobility access at national scale. Opting into Home Delivery can further lift host earnings by about 25%, as convenience becomes a key driver of demand.
“Car hosting is building real economic opportunity, fast,” said Abhilash Kasliwal, Business Head - Zoomcar. “With quick allocation of first booking, transparent trust systems, and meaningful monthly earnings, thousands of Indians are offsetting EMIs and scaling into micro-entrepreneurs. This is how we expand access to mobility and opportunity at the same time.”
Hosting is also a sustainability story. Cars sit idle about 90% of the time. Sharing that idle capacity reduces the need for new vehicle ownership while unlocking income for households. As India’s peer-to-peer mobility matures, Zoomcar remains focused on building a safety-first, host-driven ecosystem that puts control, convenience, and earnings in the hands of local entrepreneurs.
