Binance Contributes ₹1.3 Crore for Flood Relief in India

Funds directed through Goonj’s Rahat Initiative, to Provide Critical Aid to Flood-Affected Communities

In response to the recent devastating monsoon floods affecting multiple Indian states, Binance Charity, the philanthropic arm of the global blockchain leader Binance, has pledged $150,000 (₹1.3 Crore) to assist ongoing relief and recovery efforts. This contribution will support Goonj’s Rahat Initiative, supporting urgent humanitarian aid to communities affected by the floods.

Binance Charity’s contribution will be allocated toward providing vital relief supplies, including essential food material hygiene and dignity kits, clean water, and temporary shelter materials for displaced families. By directing resources toward these essentials, Binance aims to alleviate the immediate suffering of vulnerable populations and contribute to sustainable recovery.

The recent flooding has wreaked havoc across regions including Uttarakhand, Punjab, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Assam, disrupting millions of lives. Over 500 people have lost their lives, while many more face pressing challenges such as access to food, clean drinking water, hygiene products, and safe shelter.
