Vivo X500 Pro vs Pro Max: Which Flagship Wins? Vivo's X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max target photography enthusiasts, but they offer different hardware for different needs. Both feature flagship processors, advanced ZEISS cameras and large batteries. The Pro Max focuses on long-range photography and a larger display. Here's how the two announced models compare across seven key factors.

Display and Design: The X500 Pro Max features a 6.85-inch 2K display, making it the larger option for gaming, video and editing photos. The X500 Pro has a more compact 6.36-inch screen. Both feature ZEISS Master Color Display technology. Choose the Pro Max for screen space or the Pro for easier handling.

Telephoto Camera: The X500 Pro Max features a 200MP ZEISS APO telephoto camera with an 85mm-equivalent focal length. The X500 Pro uses a 64MP telephoto sensor with the same equivalent focal length. Both target detailed zoom photography, but the Max offers a higher-resolution telephoto sensor. Real-world image quality also depends on processing and shooting conditions.

Zoom Accessories and Long-Range Shots: Vivo offers the X500 Pro Max support for a 400mm-equivalent ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra. The X500 Pro supports a separate 200mm-equivalent telephoto extender. These accessories target distant subjects such as performers, wildlife and sporting action. Compatibility and accessory availability may vary by market.

Battery and Charging: The X500 Pro Max packs a 7,800mAh battery, while the X500 Pro has a 6,510mAh battery. Both support 90W wired FlashCharge and 40W wireless FlashCharge. The Max has more battery capacity on paper, but actual endurance depends on display use, camera activity, connectivity and software settings.

Processor and Performance: Both models use MediaTek's Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset, placing them in the same flagship performance tier. They run OriginOS 7, which includes multitasking features and AI-powered tools. The shared processor means everyday speed may be broadly similar, although memory configurations, thermal management and workload can influence actual performance.

Video and Stabilisation: Both phones support 4K 120fps Pro AF Tracking Video and Auto Framing Video for dynamic subjects. Their main cameras also support 4K 240fps high-frame-rate recording, while the Pro Max adds 3-degree gimbal-grade optical image stabilisation. These features target creators who film action, concerts and cinematic clips.
