Samsung Expands Galaxy AI Language Support

Samsung announced an expansion of language support across Galaxy AI and Bixby on October 14, 2026. The update aims to make its artificial intelligence features accessible to more users in their preferred languages. The expansion covers translation, transcription, summarisation, contextual suggestions, and voice-based device controls across supported Galaxy devices.

Galaxy AI Adds Hungarian and Malay

Samsung has added Hungarian and Malay to Call Assist, Note Assist, Interpreter, and Transcript Assist. These tools support tasks such as translating conversations, transcribing audio, and summarising information. With the additions, Galaxy AI features, including Live Translate, now support 24 languages, expanding their usefulness across multilingual communication and productivity tasks.

Now Nudge Supports Eight More Languages

Samsung's Now Nudge feature is expanding its language coverage with Dutch, Filipino, Gujarati, Hungarian, Malay, Romanian, Swedish, and Turkish. The feature uses on-screen context to suggest relevant next steps. With these additions, Now Nudge supports 24 languages, helping users access contextual assistance in more languages while using compatible Galaxy devices.

Bixby Adds Three Languages

Samsung's Bixby assistant is adding Polish, Thai, and Vietnamese, increasing its supported languages to 12. Users can give natural-language commands to control device settings without knowing exact menu names. The update aims to simplify everyday interactions, although recognition can vary depending on accents, pronunciation, background noise, and supported device conditions.

Language Rollout Schedule

Samsung began rolling out Bixby's new language options on October 14, 2026. The additional Galaxy AI languages will follow over the coming weeks. Some language packs can be downloaded through the Settings app. However, availability and rollout schedules may differ depending on the device, country, region, and supported software version.

Supported Languages and Regional Access

Galaxy AI now supports 24 languages, including English, Hindi, Gujarati, Malay, Hungarian, Korean, Japanese, Arabic, and Vietnamese. Bixby supports 12 languages, including English, Polish, Thai, and Vietnamese. Samsung notes that language availability does not guarantee identical functionality across every market, and some features require a Samsung Account and internet connection.

What the Expansion Means for Galaxy Users

The expansion strengthens Samsung's effort to make AI features useful across different language groups. Translation and transcription tools can support communication, while Bixby simplifies device control through natural conversation. However, performance depends on language recognition, device compatibility, and regional availability. Users should check their device settings for supported languages and rollout status.
