How to Connect Meta Quest 3 to a TV

Antara

Connect Meta Quest 3 and Your TV to the Same Wi-Fi

Before casting, connect your Meta Quest 3 headset and smart TV or casting device to the same Wi-Fi network. This helps supported devices find each other. Also, check that your headset software is updated for a smoother setup experience.

Open the Casting Menu on Meta Quest 3

Put on your Meta Quest 3 headset and press the Meta button on your right controller. Open the universal menu, select Camera, and look for the Cast option. This menu lets you choose a supported screen or device for sharing your view.

Select Your TV or Casting Device

After opening the Cast menu, check the list of available devices. Select your compatible smart TV or Chromecast device if it appears. If the TV is missing, confirm that both devices share the same Wi-Fi network and support casting.

Start Casting Your VR Experience

Once you select the available device, follow the on-screen prompts to begin casting. Your TV should display the headset view after the connection starts. You can then let friends and family watch your gameplay, fitness sessions, or other supported VR activities.

Use the Meta Horizon App as an Alternative

If direct TV casting is unavailable, cast your headset view to a compatible phone using the Meta Horizon app. Then mirror your phone screen to a supported smart TV. The exact steps depend on your phone, TV, and available screen-mirroring features.

Fix Common Meta Quest 3 Casting Problems

If casting fails, restart the headset, TV, and router. Check that both devices use the same Wi-Fi network and that any VPN or network restrictions are not interfering. Update the headset and app, then reopen the casting menu and try again.

Know the Limits of TV Casting

Meta Quest 3 casting lets others watch your headset view, but it does not turn the TV into a VR display. Some apps may show limited content, and small delays can occur. For the best experience, use a stable Wi-Fi connection and compatible devices.
