Google Pixel 10 vs Samsung Galaxy S25: Who’s the Winner?

Aayushi Jain

Pixel 10 Challenges Samsung’s Flagship Legacy : For years, Samsung’s Galaxy S series has been the default choice for Android flagship buyers, thanks to premium design, strong cameras, and consistent performance. But with the Pixel 10 launch on August 20, Google is directly challenging Samsung’s dominance. The new Pixel introduces brighter displays, bigger batteries, and enhanced AI features, making this year’s comparison closer than ever.

Design and Display Differences Stand Out : The Galaxy S25 continues its tradition of sleek and lightweight builds, weighing just 165g, making it one of the most compact premium Androids. The Pixel 10, though only slightly larger at 6.3 inches, tips the scales at 204g. Where Pixel fights back is in display brightness; it offers 3,000 nits peak brightness, outshining Samsung’s 2,600 nits, with a smooth 120Hz panel.

Performance – Tensor G5 vs Snapdragon 8 Elite : The Pixel 10 debuts Google’s Tensor G5 chip, built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm process, focusing on efficiency and AI-driven optimizations. In contrast, Samsung packs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, known for raw performance and stability. Both devices lean heavily on AI, but Samsung integrates Galaxy AI alongside Google AI, giving Galaxy users a broader ecosystem of smart tools.

Camera Comparison – Pixel Zooms Ahead : Google finally equips the Pixel 10 with a 5x telephoto zoom lens, making it a real competitor in long-range photography. The setup includes a 48MP main, 10.8MP telephoto, and 13MP ultrawide, all backed by AI features like Camera Coach. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 still leads with its 50MP primary sensor but offers only 3x optical zoom, alongside a 12MP ultrawide and 10MP telephoto lens.

Battery and Charging – Pixel Goes Bigger : One of the biggest differences comes down to endurance. Pixel 10 carries a hefty 5,000mAh battery, compared to Samsung’s 4,000mAh pack in the Galaxy S25. Google also introduces Qi2 wireless charging with magnetic support, though still capped at 15W. For wired charging, Pixel offers 30W compared to Samsung’s 25W, giving Google a slight edge on paper.

Pricing and Availability in India : Both smartphones are positioned as premium flagships in India. The Pixel 10 starts at Rs. 79,999 for its 256GB variant, available in Indigo, Frost, Lemongrass, and Obsidian. The Galaxy S25 begins at Rs. 80,999 for 12GB + 256GB, and Rs. 92,999 for the higher 512GB variant, available in Icyblue, Silver Shadow, Navy, and Mint colourways.

Which One Should You Buy? The Pixel 10 is ideal for users seeking cutting-edge AI features, brighter displays, stronger zoom photography, and longer battery life. The Galaxy S25, however, remains the choice for those who prefer lightweight builds, broader AI integration, and Samsung’s tried-and-tested Snapdragon power. At nearly identical pricing, the winner depends on what you value more: Pixel’s innovations or Samsung’s balance.
