Stop Losing Your Apple TV Remote: Misplacing your Apple TV remote could become less frustrating with Apple's latest Find My update. Compatible Siri Remotes can now appear in the Find My app on an iPhone. Users can check the remote's location and follow on-screen directions to find it. The feature makes it easier to locate a remote hidden between sofa cushions or elsewhere at home.

Find Your Remote Through Find My: Apple has added second-generation and newer Siri Remotes to the Find My app with iOS 27.2 and tvOS 27.2. Users can open the app, select the Devices tab and look for their remote. This brings remote tracking into the same app used to locate other Apple devices.

Follow Directions To Locate It: Once users select their Siri Remote, they can tap the Find option and follow the instructions on their iPhone. The screen helps them move closer to the missing device. This can be useful when the remote is somewhere nearby, though users may need to check different rooms.

New Remote Can Play A Sound: The fourth-generation Siri Remote adds a built-in speaker that can play a sound when users are searching for it. This makes finding a remote under furniture or inside a blanket easier. The sound feature is exclusive to the newest model.

Precision Finding Shows The Way: The latest Siri Remote also supports Precision Finding. It uses compatible iPhone hardware to guide users towards the missing remote with on-screen directions. This feature requires the fourth-generation remote and a compatible iPhone, including iPhone 17 models other than iPhone 17e. Availability also varies by region.

Older Siri Remotes Also Get Support: Owners do not necessarily need to purchase the newest remote to use Find My. Second-generation and third-generation Siri Remotes can also appear in the app after the required software updates. However, these older models do not support the new speaker or Precision Finding features.

Check Your Software Before Using It: Users need to update their iPhones to iOS 27.2 and Apple TV devices to tvOS 27.2 for the latest Find My integration. The remote may also need a firmware update before appearing in the app. Checking software versions is a useful first step if the remote does not show up.
