XRP Falls as Ripple Backs XRPL Upgrade and Florida Agreement

XRP traded at $1.399, down 3.27% on the day, as selling pressure outweighed fresh XRP Ledger upgrade progress, ETF inflows, and Ripple’s new Florida sponsorship.

The token remained below its short- and medium-term moving averages, although it held above the daily MA-200. That longer-term average continues to provide a technical floor.

Ripple Backs Key XRP Ledger 3.3.0 Amendments

Ripple voted for the ConfidentialTransfer, DynamicMPT, and BatchV1_1 amendments in the XRP Ledger 3.3.0 upgrade. Those votes move the proposals closer to possible mainnet activation.

BatchV1_1, also known as XLS-56, gained support from 23 of 35 UNL validators, placing consensus above 65%. XRPL amendments require 28 votes for two consecutive weeks. Meanwhile, ConfidentialTransfer and DynamicMPT each held 22.86% support. Ripple had already backed fixCleanup and Permission Delegation, while its vote on the Sponsor amendment remained pending.

The fixCleanup amendment crossed the 80% consensus threshold and will activate on September 11 at 11:15 a.m. ET. The XRP Ledger Foundation said nodes and validators had updated to the latest release.

XRP ETF Inflows Rise Despite Technical Pressure

U.S. spot XRP ETFs recorded $110.49 million in inflows during the past week, according to the supplied Coin Turk report. The inflows arrived while XRP continued to face broader selling pressure.

On the hourly chart, XRP traded below the MA-20 and MA-50. Immediate resistance stood at the Ichimoku Kijun near $1.4231, while support remained around $1.3539.

MACD and ADX signaled continued selling pressure. RSI, Stochastic RSI, and CCI showed bearish or oversold conditions, while Bull/Bear Power indicated that sellers controlled intraday action. The Awesome Oscillator remained neutral. Against that backdrop, can protocol progress and institutional inflows offset the selling pressure shaping XRP’s short-term trend?

Ripple Expands Reach Through Florida Sponsorship

Florida announced a multiyear sponsorship agreement with Ripple that will generate $5 million annually, according to a person familiar with the negotiations cited by The Associated Press. The agreement will place XRP logos on Florida Field, beginning with the game against Florida Atlantic. Ripple will also gain digital properties and event signage through the partnership.

Ripple will support financial and technology education for Florida student-athletes and the wider campus community. The program will cover both traditional finance and digital assets.

Florida Athletic Director Scott Stricklin said the partnership connects organizations focused on innovation and technology. Neither Ripple nor Florida publicly disclosed the financial terms.

The agreement follows Geico’s sponsorship of Florida Field during the final two home games last year. The insurer paid $1 million for each game.

Universities also face higher financial demands after the NCAA versus House settlement. Revenue sharing with student-athletes began at $20.5 million in 2025 and should increase by at least 4% annually. Traders now face technical weakness alongside protocol development, institutional inflows, and expanding XRP visibility.
