Xiaomi has confirmed that the TV FX Mini LED series is coming to India on June 4. The company has already started promotional campaigns through a dedicated microsite on Xiaomi.com and across its social media feeds. Going by the teasers, one thing is already clear. This won’t be an usual budget TV launch from Xiaomi. The brand is clearly aiming for something more premium this time around.
The FX series is based on QD-Mini LED technology, a combination of Quantum Dot and Mini LED backlighting. It is different from a normal LED TV as it features thousands of smaller LEDs behind the panel in a full-array configuration, which is capable of controlling lighting zone by zone.
That translates to darker blacks, more shadow detail, higher contrast, and HDR that actually lives up to its promise, whether you're watching movies, a cricket match, or gaming.
The Quantum MagiQ Engine processes each scene separately and controls contrast, colour and motion in real-time to drive the picture quality. Xiaomi is also promising reduced input latency for gamers, which means that the screen will remain in sync with rapid gameplay without lag.
The quad-speaker system features full-range drivers and two tweeters for audio. The TV features Fire TV OS with more than 12,000 apps and Alexa integration.

The Indian TV market has undergone a major transformation. The main reason people are purchasing larger screens is for streaming, gaming, and live sports, not cable. Brands like Samsung, TCL, Sony, and Hisense are already offering Mini LED panels in the Rs 40,000 to Rs 60,000 price band for 55-inch sizes, and Mini LED is making its mark.
This isn't Xiaomi's first venture into the mid-premium segment, but the FX Mini LED is a step in the right direction.
The real test for Xiaomi here is not just hardware. It is about perception. How the brand is seen in the premium space matters just as much as what is inside the TV. The price will only be revealed on June 4, and that number will tell us whether Xiaomi is genuinely ready to compete in this space or is still just standing at the doorstep.
