Xbox players across several countries faced service issues after Xbox Live went down on Monday. More than 3,000 outage reports surfaced, with everyone facing the same error code 0x87e107df, which stopped them from making digital purchases or playing Xbox Game Pass titles, despite being connected to Xbox Live. Some players even reported problems changing their Home Xbox settings.

The problem is linked to Xbox's online servers. The error appears when the system cannot confirm a player's digital game license. As a result, many digital games, including Game Pass titles, failed to launch.

Digital games usually contact Microsoft’s servers to confirm that the account or console has permission to access them. If the verification process fails, the games will refuse to launch, even if they are installed on the system.

Microsoft has acknowledged the issue in a blog post and offered two solutions. First, players can check the Xbox status page and follow the prompted instructions if available. Second, the company has suggested restarting the console.

Can Players Fix Xbox Error Code 0x87e107df?

For most players, the answer is no. Since the issue is coming from Xbox's servers, restarting the console or changing internet settings may or may not help. Users should try these methods, but the error may keep appearing even after that.

The best option is to wait until Microsoft fixes the server problem. Once the service is back online, the license check should work again, and digital games should open normally. Players should avoid making unnecessary changes to their console while the outage continues.

Will the Outage Erase Your Saved Data?

The outage may stop you from playing for a while, but it should not delete your game progress. Saved games are generally stored on your console or in the cloud linked to your Xbox account. Achievements that fail to sync during the outage are also expected to update once the servers return.

Online matches that were disrupted by this error code will probably lose the progress. However, most single-player saves and cloud backups should remain safe. Once Xbox Live is fully restored, players should be able to continue playing without losing their progress.
