Vivo has launched T5 4G in Mexico, and it doesn't try to compete on a folding display, periscope zoom lens, or flagship chip that dominates most smartphone conversations right now. Instead, the T5 phone is built around a 7,200mAh battery and IP69-rated durability, two features that are still crucial to a majority of buyers. The phone is priced at MXN 5,799 (approximately $335) and is available in a single 8GB/256GB configuration and Black and Gold colors.
Most phones in this segment ship with 5,000mAh cells. The T5 pushes well past this limit with its 7,200mAh capacity. Vivo has also paired it with 44W fast charging, so recharging the smartphone doesn't take a long time. For people who commute or travel, the numbers add up quickly.
The durability side is arguably just as interesting. T5 carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings, the latter covering protection against high-pressure water jets, not just a splash or a short dunk. The certification rarely shows up below the premium tier, and it gives the T5 a practical edge that most competitors at this price simply can't match.
The T5 model runs on a Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 processor and features a 120Hz display, a step up from the 90Hz panels common at this price point. Cameras include a 50MP primary rear shooter, a 2MP secondary sensor, and a 32MP front camera. Connectivity covers dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, an infrared blaster, and USB Type-C.

The phone ships with Android 16-based OriginOS 6 and includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It is currently available in Mexico, with no word yet on a broader regional rollout.
Vivo’s T5 is a straightforward product aimed at a clearly defined audience. At a time when many smartphone brands are chasing premium pricing and spec-heavy competition, the smartphone maker is betting on strong demand for a product that delivers all-day battery life, dependable durability, and affordability without unnecessary compromises.
