However, one thing buyers need to remember is that USB4 and USB-C are not the same. Every USB4 device uses a USB-C port, yet most USB-C ports and cables lack USB4 speed support.
USB-C is the connector shape. USB4 is the technology that runs through the connection. A laptop may have a USB-C port but not support USB4. The same applies to cables. A USB-C cable does not always support 80 Gbps speeds. Users need to check the full specs of their laptop, cable, and accessory before expecting top performance.
