The issue spread quickly in the afternoon and affected multiple payment apps and banking channels at the same time.

Data from Downdetector showed a sharp spike in complaints within a short span. The surge confirmed that the outage was widespread and not limited to a single platform. Early trends pointed to a backend or network-level issue affecting transaction processing.

Which Banks Saw Most Impact?

Maximum issues were reported by the State Bank of In

dia (SBI) users, with more than 500 complaints being raised due to non-payments. Users of UCO Bank and other banks experienced similar issues with the system.

Many users complained of transactions being stuck in the ‘processing’ mode for more than a few minutes. Some users complained of their bank accounts being debited despite the non-payments. Such issues raised concerns of temporary blockage of funds and delays in the reversal of the same.

How did Users React Online?

What are Possible Actions That Users Need to Take?

The users need to stop trying to process their failed payments because this will create double debit fees. Users need to check their notifications together with their transaction history to see their payment status. The best practice is to wait for automatic reversal, as this is the safest option available for users.

The bank and payment application have not provided any particular details about this matter. The situation shows gradual improvement, while the complaints show different patterns of change.
