Rockstar Games has launched a limited-time collaboration with Twitch. GTA Online players can now have a chance to unlock up to GTA$500,000 and an exclusive Street Samurai livery.
The event is scheduled to run for a short period, reportedly this week. Players have to check eligible GTA Online streams with Twitch Drops enabled to qualify.
To claim the rewards, players need to link their Rockstar Social Club account to Twitch. After that, watching participating streams for a set number of hours unlocks tiered rewards. The GTA cash is distributed in stages.
The Street Samurai livery becomes available after completing the full watch requirement. Rewards must be claimed through the Twitch inventory before they appear in the game.
The collaboration between Rockstar Games and Twitch is primarily centered on a themed event week in GTA Online. This time, the spotlight is mostly on community engagement. Only selected streamers will be part of the campaign, and viewers can have their watch time across different Twitch channels as long as Drops are enabled on them.
The highlight reward is the Street Samurai livery. This item is designed for players who enjoy customizing their vehicles with rare cosmetics. Aside from that, the GTA$500K bonus is there for gamers. This will allow players to save up some money for high-end vehicles, properties, or upgrades.
Rockstar, using Twitch Drops for rewards, seems to be focused on connecting in-game activity with live streaming culture. The process to participate is simple. One must link their Rockstar accounts to Twitch to watch streams, claim rewards, and log in to GTA Online to receive the bonuses. The best part is that even casual players can access it without any special effort.
Except for the Twitch rewards, the weekly GTA Online update has brought fresh content. Players can explore new drift-focused activities and vehicle upgrades. Players can go for Drift Tuning modifications. These encourage players to try competitive drift races.
A new in-game vehicle has joined the game as well to expand the lineup for collectors and racers. Weekly challenges, bonuses on selected missions, and limited-time cosmetic items are also available for players right now. This rotation helps players keep the multiplayer world active.
Rockstar updates always come with special event races and community-created content. These are two of the most important parts of the update cycle. The studio is clearly leaning into player creativity while refreshing core gameplay modes.
