FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods found itself at the center of a fresh leak. Some brand-new footage of the game went viral online, showcasing never-before-seen abilities and an uncut version of the original gameplay. The images were first shared by Bilibili, and then other sites started re-posting them.

The clips offer a look at the game’s combat and its unusual multiplayer setup. Unlike the studio’s better-known Souls games, The Duskbloods appears to put several players into the same fight while the world itself can also turn against them.

The leaked footage showed PvPvE gameplay. Thus, the game will allow players to fight against AI enemies and other players as well. This is a different kind of experience, and winning won’t really mean taking down another player. At every step, players must watch out for their surroundings and react when the environment presents another threat.

The Souls formula is known for tough enemies, careful combat, and tense exploration. The Duskbloods seems to take some of those ideas and place them inside a more active multiplayer setting. The PvPvE format could make each match less predictable. A player might have an advantage over another fighter, only to lose it when a powerful enemy enters the area.

The leak does not show the complete picture. It is also important to remember that leaked footage may not represent the final game. Still, the gameplay shown so far suggests that FromSoftware is willing to experiment. The Duskbloods could give the studio a chance to move beyond the Souls formula while keeping the tense combat that made its games famous.
