Equal AI has raised $30 million in a Series B round co-led by Prosus Ventures and Tomales Bay Capital. The startup plans to expand beyond call screening and develop AI-powered solutions for communications, shopping, finance, and concierge services. The latest funding comes about 18 months after Equal AI raised a $10 million Series A round in November 2024 from the same lead investors.
Consumer AI startup Equal AI looks to scale its AI assistant platform and expand beyond call management into a broader suite of consumer services. The funding round saw participation from Think Investments, Valiant Fund, Sameer Nigam, founder of PhonePe, Zubin Bharti Mittal of the Airtel family office, Skyflow AI co-founder Anshu Sharma, Meta India vice-president Sandhya Devanathan, and CtrlS Datacenters chairman Sridhar Pinnapureddy, among others.
Equal AI plans to use the fresh capital to deepen its AI call assistant capabilities while expanding into adjacent categories such as communications, financial services, shopping, lifestyle, and concierge services.
Founded by Keshav Reddy, Equal AI started as a data-sharing and identity infrastructure company before pivoting into consumer artificial intelligence in October 2025 with the launch of India's first AI call assistant. The product helps users screen spam calls, identify callers, understand call intent, and perform actions on behalf of users.
"The capital infusion will support Equal AI's growth roadmap as it advances its vision of becoming India's AI Assistant for everyday needs," the company said in a statement.
"Equal AI is a category-defining bet on what voice AI can do for everyday Indians. We are very excited to deepen our investment in Keshav and Equal AI, who will accelerate to become India's AI Assistant that will be an AI Lifestyle Concierge for 100 million Indians," said Thiago Viana, global co-head of Prosus Ventures.
According to the company, its enterprise business serves more than 350 customers across banking, insurance, telecom, and digital platforms, with access to over 50 identity databases and 4,000 API providers.

The demand for AI-powered digital services continues to rise as consumers seek faster, smarter, and more personalized experiences. Iqbaljit Kahlon, founder and managing partner at Tomales Bay Capital, said, "We co-led the Series A and are deepening our commitment in this round because Equal is not building a feature. They are building the layer through which hundreds of millions of Indians will interact with their digital lives.”
The startup is positioning itself as a broader AI layer for smartphone users, seeking to automate routine tasks and simplify digital interactions through voice-first experiences.
