Sony has announced a new range of PlayStation 5 accessories in its Prism Collection, featuring transparent DualSense wireless controllers and matching PS5 console covers. The collection revisits the see-through aesthetic popular in the late 1990s, combining a nostalgic look with the console’s modern design.

Sony Prism Collection: Colors and Design

The Prism Collection will be available in three colors: Flare Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray. The transparent finish lets players see some internal components, highlighting the design and craftsmanship of the DualSense controllers and PlayStation 5 consoles.

Sony says the collection was inspired by its design teams’ interest in introducing a transparent look to the PS5 while letting players take a closer look at the technology behind the hardware.

The new accessories revive a design trend from late-1990s electronics, when transparent casings became popular across consumer devices. Sony aims to give the familiar aesthetic a contemporary update that complements the PS5’s industrial design.

PS5 Prism Collection Price and Availability

Sony’s Prism Collection DualSense wireless controllers are priced at USD 84.99, while the matching PS5 console covers may cost USD 74.99.

Pre-orders will open on November 10, 2026, through the PlayStation online store and participating retailers. The collection is scheduled to become available from February 4, 2027.

Availability may vary by country and region, while launch dates and retail pricing may differ across markets. The new collection offers PS5 owners another way to customize their gaming setup, with matching controller and console-cover designs in three transparent finishes.

Sony Follows Transparent Tech Trend

The announcement comes as transparent designs regain attention in consumer electronics. Earlier this year, Microsoft announced a 25th-anniversary Xbox Series X featuring a design inspired by the original Xbox, with the console and select accessories finished in translucent green.

Sony’s Prism Collection similarly draws on the appeal of see-through electronics while adapting the look for its current-generation gaming hardware. The launch expands the company’s PS5 accessory range with a design-focused option for players seeking a different look for their console and controller.
