Sony has cancelled Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, its free-to-play mobile multiplayer shooter, before the game could receive a full worldwide release. The title, developed by Oh BiBi in partnership with Insomniac, will be removed from the Apple App Store and Google Play on November 21, 2026. Its servers are scheduled to shut down permanently on May 1, 2027.
The development team announced the decision on November 6 through the game's official website. It confirmed that development had ended and thanked players who participated in the soft launch and shared feedback.
The final planned update began rolling out on November 6. Existing players can continue accessing the game, including its current modes, matchmaking and competitive features, until the servers close next year.
Sony and Oh BiBi have also made changes to the game's monetisation system. In-app purchases are no longer available, while the Super Pass has been made free for everyone. The Qwark Pass seasons will continue until the shutdown, allowing players to unlock rewards through regular gameplay.
Players can still use their existing in-game currency to purchase upgrades, cosmetics and characters. However, all unused currency and unclaimed rewards must be spent or collected before May 1, 2027.
Once the servers are switched off, the game will no longer load. All player data and account progress will also be deleted. Refund requests for previous purchases will be handled through Apple's App Store or Google Play, depending on where the transactions were made.

First announced in November 2025, Ranger Rumble initially launched in the Philippines and Indonesia before expanding to several other markets, including Canada and the UK. Despite the additional regional releases, it never received a full worldwide launch.
The developers have clarified that cancelling the mobile spin-off will not affect other Ratchet & Clank games or PlayStation services.
